Church Life: Fund Raising Ideas

Here are some ideas to help fund raise for specific project or program, in addition to the weekly offering.

  • Bake sales where anyone and everyone bakes something and have a sale near the grocery store, etc. For this to be successful it needs to be well advertised.
  • Car washes may be done by the youth to subside trip costs. Local banks and business often will let you use their water and parking lot to do this. Make signs and have kids stand by the road to catch people driving.
  • Competitions between Sunday School classes to see who could raise the most funds in a certain period of time.
  • Get the elders involved as they have great ideas and are willing to cook and donate because they can't always physically help but they love to back.
  • Have a book sale.
  • Have church members donate items for a yard sale.
  • Removing stained glass out of the old church building, had them framed and auctioned them off to church members with the proceeds going to the building fund.
  • Running a booth at a college stadium selling hot dogs etc. with the student(s) who staffed the booth would split 10% of sales, using this money for the next upcoming church event as their payment.
  • To use light yard work for a fund raiser put an announcement in the church bulletin. A church member will show up to do the work in support of the program.
