Care Packages For Youth Away Studying
A neat way to encourage youth from your church when they are away studying is to send a care package. This helps these young adults during their transition years leading up to their career.
A neat idea is if each Sunday School class "adopts" one of the youth who are away studying for the year. Sending simple letters and pictures brings a smile while facing the stress of papers, exams and managing their personal lives when away from home.
The following is a suggested list of contents for a care package:
- A "pick me up" like a fake rose or a baseball
- A note from a sibling
- A note from friends back home
- After shave
- Coupons for the grocery store
- Deodorant
- Home made cookies
- Picture of the family
- Room air fresheners
- Shampoo
- Shaving cream and razors
- Snack food the parents suggest
- Some dried pastas
- Toothpaste
